The Knicks are so terrible the only thing left to sell Kevin Durant on is the chance to save the franchise Kevin Durant caught flack for signing with the greatest regular-season team in NBA history. And if he’s looking for approval from those critics, Durant could do the exact opposite with the Knicks. Maybe that’s part of the appeal. They had already broke the team record for consecutive defeats at home with 15.

Gasol had seven points and six rebounds as Toronto sent the Knicks to their franchise record -tying 16 th straight loss . Acquired from Memphis before Thursday's trade deadline, Gasol played 19 minutes. The three-time All-Star entered late in the first quarter and made a hook shot on his first try.

THAT'S A LONG STREAK

The Knicks' loss gives them the 34th losing streak of at least 17 games in NBA history and the longest skid since the Memphis Grizzlies dropped 19 in a row last season.

New York hasn't won since a 119-112 victory over the Lakers on Jan. 4.
