Golovkin joins rival Canelo with three-year DAZN deal Former undisputed world middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin has signed a three-year, six-fight deal with sports streaming service DAZN, joining rivals Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Daniel Jacobs on their boxing roster. DAZN announced Golovkin's arrival on its website, a move that probably sets up a third meeting between the 36-year-old Kazakhstan fighter and Mexico's 28-year-old Alvarez for later this year. Golovkin, 38-1-1 with 34 knockouts, and Alvarez, 51-1 with two draws and 35 knockouts, fought to a draw in 2017 before Alvarez won by majority decision last September.

Former ESPN anchor Adnan Virk has apparently resolved his abrupt departure from the network and found the next stop in his broadcasting career.

Shortly after signing a multiyear contract extension, Virk was fired in January for allegedly leaking company information about ESPN's negotiations with Major League Baseball.

Although Virk continues to maintain he did nothing wrong, he and the network have agreed not to litigate their differences, according to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post.

"While the company and I may disagree about the exact circumstances surrounding my unfortunate departure, we all collectively agree it's time to move on," he said in a statement.

So what's next?

Author James Andrew Miller reports Virk is headed to digital subscription service DAZN, where he will anchor a daily MLB highlight show.

Virk, 40, was one of ESPN's primary hosts on "Baseball Tonight," which makes him a good fit for a similar role on DAZN.

As Awful Announcing notes, DAZN just signed a three-year deal with MLB, which will include a live show each weeknight that will "seamlessly whip around live MLB games to showcase the most suspenseful moments, crucial plays and biggest rallies."

DAZN is run by former ESPN president John Skipper and its head of talent, John Santry, was previously at CAA, the agency that represents Virk.
