The New York Mets are making a quick stop in Syracuse for an open workout ahead of Opening Day on Thursday. Many members of the team less than thrilled about the prospect of a seemingly pointless journey to Syracuse. Well, those skeptical individuals are likely infuriated right now, as the team's flight to the workout has been delayed.
According to the New York Post's Mike Puma, there are a lot of disgruntled players aboard the Mets' plane, as they have been delayed 3.5 hours on their way to Syracuse. They won't land until close to midnight.

The flight was reportedly delayed due to mechanical issues.
Someone will have to restrain Noah Syndergaard by the end of this journey. The Mets pitcher has been vocal in his opposition of the trip to Syracuse, and now that the journey is delayed he will undoubtedly be enraged.
Michael Conforto also vocalized his confusion over the necessity of the workout being in upstate New York, especially considering the team has to travel to Washington D.C. to take on the Nationals in Thursday's season opener.
Mets are finally going to take off for Syracuse around 9 p.m. - they have been grounded for hours in Sarasota by a mechanical issue.

The Mets reason for heading to Syracuse was for an open workout as the franchise debuts its new minor league affiliate the Syracuse Mets. Clearly, the major league club was less than stoked about the journey, and the delays have only fueled their irritation.
