Virginia Tech guard Ty Outlaw has been charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana, according to The Roanoke Times, which cited Montgomery County General District Court records.

While the report was filed to the court Wednesday, Outlaw was charged last Thursday and he was arrested by Blacksburg police Tuesday at 12:14 p.m. ET. Outlaw was released with a summons and is expected to appear in court April 11.

Outlaw is still expected to play Friday with his teammates in the NCAA Tournament, according to the Daily Press. The East Region's fourth-seeded Hokies will take on No. 1 Duke in the Sweet 16.

Outlaw, 23, has averaged 8.7 points and 5.4 rebounds through 34 games. He had 10 points and 11 rebounds Sunday in the win over Liberty that put Virginia Tech in the Sweet 16.

Outlaw ranks second in the ACC in 3-point field goal percentage this season, making 45.6 percent of his attempts.
