Lightning, Kucherov finish season making serious history

Lightning, Kucherov finish season making serious history 128 points for both team and player, with 62 wins tying an NHL record.

Jaromir Jagr might not fleet-footed these days but still has a nose for the net in his native Czech Republic. He opened the scoring five minutes into Friday’s game against the Chomutov Pirates, then The victory moved Klando one step closer to rejoining the Extraliga, the top -tier Czech league .

Jaromir Jagr scored 3 goals and 1 assist against HC Znojmo in Czech Extraliga (season 2004-2005). Final result: HC Kladno - HC Znojmo 4 :0

At this rate, Jaromir Jagr will still be scoring goals at age 50.

The 47-year-old hockey legend, a year removed from his last NHL appearance with the Calgary Flames, is currently playing in the Czech Republic for HC Kladno.

And on Friday, he casually scored four goals in a game that earned his club a promotion to the Czech Extraliga, the top hockey league in the country.

Sure, this is not the NHL, but the variety of ways in which Jagr scored shows he still very much has the skillset of an elite hockey player — a wrist shot up high, a quick one-timer, a redirection in front of the net and an undressing of a defender before burying a goal as time expired in the period.

Jagr scored all four goals for Kladno in a 4-2 win on Friday to propel his hometown team back into the top-tier Czech league after being relegated in 2014.

Look at the smile, and the gray beard!

This comes a week after he pulled this end-to-end move:

For those of a younger generation, Jagr played his first NHL game at age 18 in 1990 and won the Art Ross Trophy as top scorer in the league five times. In essence, he was burying pucks into the net before most of his teammates were even born.

Jagr last played in the NHL for the Flames in the 2017-18 season, recording a goal and six assists in 22 games. But the previous year, at age 44, he played all 82 games for the Florida Panthers and had 16 goals and 30 assists.

As we’ve seen over the last week, the man still has something left in the tank — which we’re pretty sure, at this point, will never go empty.
