Cincinnati center Nysier Brooks , who started 35 games for the Bearcats last season, is transferring to the University of Miami for his senior season. The Hurricanes last month added another transfer , Keith Stone , a forward from the University of Florida.

Nysier Brooks, a center for the Cincinnati Bearcats for the past three seasons, announced via Twitter on Tuesday that he's transferring to the University of Miami to play for the Hurricanes and head coach Jim Larrañaga.

Brooks had recently entered the NCAA transfer portal and announced via Twitter on Monday that he would not return to UC.

Late last month, a report from CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein indicated that Brooks would visit three schools and consider another. Rothstein reported Monday via Twitter that Brooks had already visited the University of Miami.

The 6-foot-11 Brooks will be a senior with one year of eligibility remaining - barring a waiver - after he sits out the 2019-20 season. Brooks was named the Bearcats' Defensive Player of the Year after he finished third in the AAC in blocks with 1.5 per game this past season. Brooks also finished sixth on the team with 8.1 points per game and second with 6.3 rebounds per game.

Brooks finished in double figures in scoring in four of his last seven games of the season, including the Bearcats' NCAA Tournament loss to Iowa.

Brooks' teammate at UC, Jarron Cumberland, was among 30 players invited Monday to the NBA G League Elite Camp.
