Beckham Jr. plans to turn Browns 'into the new Patriots' Odell Beckham Jr. didn't do much winning over his five years with the New York Giants, playing in one postseason game during that span. The star wideout has yet to play a game for the Cleveland Browns following an offseason trade, but he intends to make the team a perennial powerhouse. "I plan on being there for the next five years and trying to bring as many championships there as possible, turning (the Browns) into the new Patriots," Beckham said in an interview with GQ's Cam Wolf. Beckham regards his new quarterback, Baker Mayfield, as a future Hall of Famer, and Cleveland's talent has reinvigorated him.

Beckham participated in the first day of OTAs on Tuesday; Johnson wasn't there, but a source said he plans to attend. He stuck around, as anticipated, to participate in the Browns ’ first Organized Team Activities practice on Tuesday. It marks Beckham ’s first participation in a Browns ’ voluntary workout

BEREA, Ohio — One practice appears to be enough for Odell Beckham Jr.

The star wide receiver was not at Cleveland's voluntary workout Wednesday after showing up Tuesday following a monthlong absence. Beckham, who was acquired by the Browns in a March trade from the New York Giants, had been in contact with the club while he was away and the team is comfortable with him leaving again.

Thirteen days later, the Giants traded Beckham to the Cleveland Browns for first- and third-round picks and safety Jabrill Peppers. Something dramatic and inexplicable needs to have happened in those 13 days to make this trade make sense because it otherwise reads as if the Giants were hacked.
