Report: People close to Jeanie Buss 'imploring her to trade LeBron James'
The Los Angeles Lakers went from being “this close” to bringing Ty Lue on board as the next head coach to all of a sudden being a complete train wreck again. After Lue reportedly walked away from negotiations, it’s now being reported that people close to owner Jeanie Buss are pleading with her to trade superstar LeBron James. Stephen A. Smith said on "SportsCenter" (h/t Bleacher Report) that the latest developments with Lue have sparked this. “Nothing is out of bounds right now. We don’t know what the hell is going on in Los Angeles. You’ve got folks close to Jeanie Buss imploring her to trade LeBron James.

“Even before Magic’s latest move, sources close to LeBron James expressed concern that the combination of Magic’s messy exit and all the negative Lakers headlines threatened to sabotage their summer,”. “The challenge of convincing another elite star to come to town was already seen as daunting around the league, and now these horrendous optics make that uphill climb far worse.”
Dwyane Wade defends Magic Johnson over criticism of Lakers GM
The divorce between former team president Magic Johnson and the Los Angeles Lakers took a turn earlier this week when Johnson indicated that Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka backstabbed him. It all stems from Pelinka apparently telling the Lakers’ brass that Johnson was lazy on the job in his two-plus years as president. In responding to this notion, former Miami Heat guard and future Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade backed Johnson up in a big way.

The Lakers have enough cap room to add two max-contract players. They have also been closely linked to New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis in trade talks — though it now appears.
Short of James and Co. adding at least one star player, the team will continue to be mired in mediocrity. That’s especially true with theout west.
This could be a franchise-altering offseason in Hollywood. Unfortunately, it might not end up in the Lakers’ favor. LeBron is certainly worried about that possibility.
Report: Clippers not interested in Jimmy Butler, who could sign with Lakers.
The Los Angeles Clippers are expected to be big-time players in free agency this coming summer. Among those the team would like to sign, Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard sit atop the food chain. Interestingly enough, it appears that the Clippers are not interested in Philadelphia 76ers All-Star guard and impending free agent Jimmy Butler. When @ColinCowherd asked me this morning on @TheHerd what star player the Lakers could realistically sign, I didn’t waste any time saying Jimmy Butler. He likes L.A, LeBron James has been in touch with him and he would join the Lakers in a second if they offered him a max deal. pic.twitter.
