Smith was hired at Washington State in March, replacing Ernie Kent. NBA Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman told CNN he was hoping to do "something that' s pretty positive," before he boarded a plane bound for North Korea. The eccentric former basketball player arrived in Pyongyang Tuesday afternoon for an anticipated four-night visit.

Rodman spent 14 seasons in the NBA, most notably with the Chicago Bulls and the Detroit Pistons. The five-time NBA Champion was inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame in 2011. Rodman has stayed in the news in recent years most notably due to his public support of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and his relationship with United States President Donald Trump.

Most recently, he was accused of helping steal thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from a Southern California yoga studio and for slapping a guest at his birthday party earlier this week.
