Anthony Davis unlikely to back off trade request While new Pelicans head of basketball operations David Griffin has talked about wanting to try to convince Anthony Davis to remain in New Orleans, that looks unlikely to happen. An NBA source tells Fletcher Mackel of WDSU in New Orleans that the arrival of Griffin hasn’t impacted Davis’ stance — he still wants to be traded (Twitter link). Asked by Mackel if things could change in the coming weeks, the source advised not to expect to a change of heart from AD, despite the fact that Griffin and agent Rich Paul have a strong relationship.

Former Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III wants to see his former college coach get a second chance in the minds of football fans.

Art Briles was controversially hired as coach at Mount Vernon High School in Mount Vernon, Texas, three years after losing his job at Baylor over his failure to report alleged sexual assaults among football players.

Mac Engel: Feel free to hate Briles and Baylor, but make sure to do your homework on the subject.
There are too many sad elements in this tale to count, but the media has failed in the Art Briles/Baylor saga from the start. From our inability to see some of these sexual assault allegations when they were occurring in real time at Baylor, to labeling Briles as a man who endorsed and fostered a culture of rape. Aware of my own failings and hypocrisy on this story, I acknowledge why so many deplore my well-meaning good brothers and sisters in the media. As critical as we are to your community and a democracy, we can be a lazy judgmental pack of self-important blowhards.
