When UK announced his plans to redshirt in November, both coach and son said the move was planned in order to allow him to remain on the team for both years of graduate school at UK.

"I’ve been thinking about this for a while," Brad said in a news release announcing the redshirt decision. "With where I am in my basketball career and with what I plan to do academically, this just made the most sense. I plan to remain around my brothers and continue to work on my game."

He appeared in 27 games across his first two seasons at Kentucky, averaging 2.7 minutes per appearance. He has scored just 11 points in his career but has been billed as a strong 3-point shooter, despite hitting just three of 19 3-point attempts in his UK career.

Speculation about what effect a transfer might have on his father's future at Kentucky is likely to be lessened thanks to the recent long-term extension agreed upon between John Calipari and UK.
