Knicks could prefer Kawhi Leonard over Kevin Durant in free agency

Knicks could prefer Kawhi Leonard over Kevin Durant in free agency The Toronto Raptors and forward Kawhi Leonard are two victories away from an NBA championship. Meanwhile, Leonard's star counterpart for Golden State remains sidelined. These are the two biggest stories heading into Game 4 of the NBA Finals Friday night. While Leonard’s team is coming off an impressive Game 3 victory in Oakland, Kevin Durant remains sidelined with a calf injury. Within the next month, both players will become free agents. Linked more to the New York Knicks than any other team, it was previously a near certainty that Durant would be heading to the Big Apple. We’re not sure where that stands at this point.

New York Knicks fans haven’t let the injury to Kevin Durant keep them from doing everything they can to convince him to sign in free agency.

Durant is currently in New York for medical testing on the Achilles injury he suffered in the second quarter of Game 5 Monday night.

While he is there, Knicks fans have shown up to wish him well and ask him to sign with their beloved team.

Report: Kevin Durant suffered setback with calf injury

Report: Kevin Durant suffered setback with calf injury Now that the Golden State Warriors are down 3-1 in the NBA Finals, people want to know what is going on with Kevin Durant. Have the Warriors downplayed the severity of his injury? Is Durant unwilling to tough things out? Or is something else going on? According to one reporter, the Warriors had hopes of Durant playing in Game 4 on Friday night, but he suffered a setback. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst joined “SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt” after the Warriors’ 105-92 loss to the Raptors on Friday night and shared some information about Durant. He said the Warriors thought Durant would be able to play on Friday, but his body wasn’t ready.

Based on the way the New York media treated Durant’s injury, that might be a long shot right about now.
