Atlanta Braves left-hander Sean Newcomb left Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies after getting hit in the head by a line drive off the bat of J.T Newcomb - currently in MLB's concussion protocol - will be further evaluated overnight, but he and the team are hopeful he avoided serious injury.

Newcomb was able to exit the field without assistance, but the extent of any potential injury is unknown. Atlanta Braves left-hander Sean Newcomb left Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies after getting hit in the head by a line drive off the bat of J.T. Realmuto.

Newcomb was able to exit the game in the third inning under his own power.
