On Thursday night, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, in conjunction with Royce Young, dropped a Woj bomb informing the sports world that the Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder struck a deal involving All-Star point guards Russell Westbrook and Chris Paul. The deal will reunite former MVP teammates, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden in Houston.

The duo spent three seasons together in Oklahoma City from 2009-2012, before the Thunder trade Harden to the Rockets during the off-season of 2012. During that three year span, the duo helped lead the Thunder to the Finals in their final season together, but wasn't able to the complete the historic season by raising the trophy losing to the Miami Heat in five games.

Report: Rival execs see Rockets as ‘likely suitor’ for Russell Westbrook

Report: Rival execs see Rockets as ‘likely suitor’ for Russell Westbrook The Oklahoma City Thunder have no choice but to explore the possibility of trading Russell Westbrook now that Paul George has forced his way out of town, and any deal involving the All-Star point guard could once again shift the balance of power in the Western Conference.

Russell Westbrook III (born November 12, 1988) is an American professional basketball player for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Westbrook is among the league's most lethal rim attackers, and yet he keeps launching deep twos Westbrook can collapse a defense anytime he wants to, which should provide plenty of open looks "I think that Russell has to take a step back," Charles Barkley said on the TNT broadcast late Tuesday.

Before the news broke that Westbrook would be heading to Houston, he along with his childhood friend Comedian Demetrius "Juice" Deason were hosting their annual Why Not?? Comedy show at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa. According to Heavy's Brandon 'Scoop B' Robinson, Westbrook was scheduled to talk with reporters at 8:15 p.m. However, time minutes before Woj's announcement broke and decided to skip the interview session and took the stage to introduce "Juice."

At the end of the night, Westbrook came back on stage and thank the crowd from coming out and supporting the event. He also posed for pictures with fans.

The Thunder have decided to hit the reset button after trading Paul George this past weekend to the Clippers, and Westbrook, according to numerous reports had been on the trading block as well. However, most of the reports had him headed to Miami. Instead, he will join James Harden in Houston to form of the most exciting guard tandems in NBA history.

Per Robinson, two sources close to Westbrook and circle was aware that he would be headed to Houston for almost a week.

Robinson also spoke with Deason, and he stated the timing could not have been better. "It's dope."

If I could have picked that we dropped the news on any day, I think it would have been tonight. I think that's what I would have wanted. The comedy gods were on my side tonight.

Thunder reportedly will look to trade Chris Paul.
Spending the remainder of his career on a rebuilding Oklahoma City Thunder team cannot be what Chris Paul had in mind. Paul was traded to OKC on Thursday as part of a shocking deal that sent Russell Westbrook to the Houston Rockets for a pair of first-round picks and two pick swaps. The Thunder have dealt away Paul George and Westbrook over the last week, accumulated draft picks, and are in clear rebuilding mode. They have no use for an aging point guard like Paul, who would prefer to compete for a championship.
