New Lakers forward Jared Dudley says Kawhi Leonard would give Lakers a Big Three 'on steroids'

New Lakers forward Jared Dudley says Kawhi Leonard would give Lakers a Big Three 'on steroids' New Los Angeles Lakers forward Jared Dudley envisions a Big Three "on steroids" if Kawhi Leonard joins his team.

The Lakers have reportedly agreed to deals with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Lance Stephenson and JaVale McGee after landing LeBron James. Starting with the high-profile moves left on the board, expect the Lakers to press more seriously for unsettled Spurs star Kawhi Leonard , who is due nearly

If the Los Angeles Lakers pair a second superstar with LeBron James this summer, it likely won't be Kawhi Leonard . This is not a new development, as Leonard has reportedly had little interest in joining the Lakers since speculation about a union between the two sides began last offseason.

There was no shortage of speculation in the aftermath Kawhi Leonard’s somewhat prolonged free-agency deliberations that the superstar took advantage of the Los Angeles Lakers’ intense interest in securing his services.

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the Lakers remain slightly bitter over how the Leonard sweepstakes played out. What’s more, the NBA insider adds the Toronto Raptors are not at all pleased with how Leonard went about his free-agency decision.

It’s unknown whether the Los Angeles Lakers are feeling more pressure to land Kawhi Leonard now that DeMarcus Cousins has signed with the division rival Golden State Warriors. Leonard ’s value also decreased once he requested a trade through the media. For the Lakers , the question is two-fold.

Kawhi Anthony Leonard (/kəˈwaɪ/, born June 29, 1991) is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

“I’ve heard complaints in the days after the signing. I heard complaints from the Lakers that they got played,” Windhorst said during an appearance this week on ESPN’s Hoop Collective Podcast. “I heard complaints from the Raptors that Kawhi came in and asked for the sun, the moon, the stars then left them at the altar.”

There was some chatter ahead of Leonard’s decision to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers that the Raptors felt that the superstar — along with his advisor and uncle, Dennis Robertson — were attempting to exert excessive leverage on the organization during talks. Further, this is not the first time the suggestion has been made that the Lakers felt used and perhaps even misled by Leonard.

However, it arguably would be a stretch to think Leonard would be so cold, calculating and even vindictive, as there’s no evidence indicating the Lakers did anything that would deservedly elicit such a response.

NBA Twitter pokes fun at Lakers after Clippers land Kawhi Leonard and Paul George The Clippers nabbed two birds with one stone Friday night as they agreed to sign Kawhi Leonard and traded for Paul George, and Twitter didn't hesitate to ridicule the other LA team, which was left in the dust.

As James reportedly was already recruiting Kawhi Leonard and Jimmy Butler back in May, the Lakers eventually traded for Anthony Davis Although the Lakers have accomplished their goal, there is an opportunity to sign a third All-Star player after they successfully re-established their max-contract slot.

As the Lakers prepare for an offseason where they have more than a few questions to address. A new report just surfaced that may have made this summer a bit tougher in terms of finding Lebron the proper support to make a championship push within the next 3 seasons. ESPN's Michael C. The Lakers, along with the Clippers and the Raptors, were viewed as front-runners to land Leonard, with the Lakers generally perceived as the favorites. That said, the notion that the Lakers do indeed harbor bitterness over Leonard will make their L.A. rivalry with the Clippers all the more compelling heading into the 2019-20 NBA season, one that is already dividing the city in strange ways.
