Rapinoe, who helped lead the United States to its fourth Women's World Cup victory earlier this month, has inked a deal with Penguin Press for an untitled project about her life, according to Concepcion de Leon of the New York Times. The project is expected to be released in fall 2020 and will touch on topics such as LGBTQ rights and pay equity for women.

"I hope this book will inspire people to find what they can do, and in turn inspire other people around them to do the same," Rapinoe said.

Rapinoe has also signed on with the Penguin Young Readers division Razorbill for a middle-grade book about "the power young people have within their own communities and the world at large," according to a statement.
