Vince Carter agrees to re-sign with Hawks Vince Carter, the oldest player in the NBA, has agreed to return to the Hawks, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN tweets. Carter, 42, will be playing for a record 22nd season. It’s expected to his last, Wojnarowski adds. Carter will surpass Robert Parish, Kevin Willis and Kevin Garnett, who each played 21 seasons. Carter had already established the record for most seasons by a wing player. Kobe Bryant played 20 seasons. Carter’s return to Atlanta was not a surprise. The team had held a roster spot open for him in anticipation that a deal would eventually get done. The Hawks will now have 14 players with guaranteed contracts.

And whenever you speak to a new coach, they're quick to discuss the importance of changing the "culture" in a program. The players need to be tougher, they need to buy in - all that usual stuff. But Oats has an unusual strategy of accomplishing that goal:

Military-style, special operations training.

Alabama basketball shared some photos and a video this week from Day 1 of the team's boot camp, and it didn't take place in a gym. Nope, not at all. We can see as the team (and the coaching staff) participated in intense training that most would probably associate with Navy SEALs.
