Tom Brady subtly weighs in on Antonio Brown helmet controversy

Tom Brady subtly weighs in on Antonio Brown helmet controversy Like Antonio Brown, Tom Brady is also being forced to wear a different model of helmet this year from the one he has grown accustomed to throughout his career. While Brown may have felt he was being singled out by the league this offseason, Brady thinks there’s a different reason why the NFL is also forcing him to make a change. In an Instagram post on Tuesday morning, Brady said the NFL must not have liked the way his old helmet was working for the Patriots.

ESPN's College GameDay returned Saturday morning with a special Week 0 episode from Disney World ahead of Miami vs. Florida in Orlando, and Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard created a very awkward moment in his first show of the season.

When show host Rece Davis asked Howard whether the Michigan Wolverines would be able to beat the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2019, Howard responded with a reference to a not-safe-for-morning-TV Chappelle's Show skit featuring Wayne Brady.

Rece Davis: "Will Michigan make a big enough splash to beat Ohio State this year? I know you've never been asked that question."

Desmond Howard: "Oh Rece Davis. Is Desmond Howard going to have to Djokovic? I tell you what, look, I have my barbershop response, and my PC response."

Many viewers questioned on social media whether Howard had just quoted the Brady line "choke a [expletive]" directly, but if you listen carefully, it's clear that Howard ended his sentence with "Djokovic."

There's some ESPN history to this joke. Former ESPN anchor Robert Flores famously used the line "is Wayne Brady gonna have to Djokovic" multiple times on air.

Desmond Howard, though, is experienced enough to know that he definitely shouldn't be saying either line on live television.
