The Canadian teenager booked a place in her first-ever Grand Slam final on Thursday, showcasing her never-say-die attitude in a gritty 7-6 (3), 7-5 win over Belinda Bencic in their US Open clash.

Andreescu saved six break points in the first set before controlling the tiebreaker. She outdid herself in the second stanza, though, roaring back from a 5-2 deficit as her Swiss counterpart unraveled at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Andreescu will now meet Serena Williams in a rematch of this summer's Rogers Cup final, which saw the latter retire due to injury.
