Odell Beckham says he plans to wear luxury watch during game again

Odell Beckham says he plans to wear luxury watch during game again Odell Beckham Jr made the bizarre decision to wear a luxury watch during the Cleveland Browns’ Week 1 game against the Tennessee Titans, and he apparently violated an NFL rule in the process. But until the league speaks to him about it directly, Beckham says he is not planning to make a wardrobe change. Beckham told reporters on Tuesday that he believes the watch would not have been an issue if any other player wore it or if it were less valuable. He also said the NFL has not spoken to him about it and he will continue to wear it. #Browns Odell Beckham Jr said he wants it to about football, not the watch.

Cleveland Browns star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. went viral during Sunday's blowout loss to the Tennessee Titans not because of a great catch or a wild touchdown but because of the expensive watch he was wearing on his left wrist in the game.

You know who didn't like that? The NFL, of course. The league apparently has a rule that does not allow "hard objects" to be worn by players.

The NFL let OBJ and the Browns know on Monday that the watch isn't to be worn during games. But the WR said he's going to keep wearing it and that the NFL is only making a big deal about this because it involves OBJ.

Odell Beckham Jr . doesn't give a damn about the NFL's jewelry policy 'cause the Cleveland Browns superstar says he's gonna keep wearing his flashy 0k watch during games . 1) The price of the watch . OBJ says if he was wearing a cheap timepiece no one would care (wrong BTW, we'd care 2) Odell says it's all about him -- people make a big deal out of ANYTHING he does .

But here's the thing, why do you even need to wear watch in a NFL game? Or at all, really? Granted, I'm biased here because I'm not a watch guy. I have a cellular phone that's always with me and tells me the time pretty accurately each time I look at it.

I know the great Reggie Roby used to wear a cheap digital watch when he was punting for the Dolphins because he liked to see how long his punts travelled in the air, which as a kid I thought was both weird and cool.

And I get OBJ is a fashion-forward guy, which is cool and all. But who really cares about wearing a wrist watch in a NFL game?

The league is likely concerned for player safety with this issue but I don't see the watch ever really hurting anybody.

The Browns got off to a horrendous start in Sunday's loss and all focus should be on getting ready for Monday's Week 2 game against the New York Jets.

2-minute warning? NFL to speak with OBJ about wearing watch

2-minute warning? NFL to speak with OBJ about wearing watch CLEVELAND (AP) — The NFL plans to speak with Browns star Odell Beckham Jr. about wearing a watch during Sunday's game. The flashy, fashionable wide receiver sported an expensive watch — worth over $250,000 — during his debut with Cleveland, which was rolled 43-13 by the Tennessee Titans. Beckham, who came to Cleveland in a March trade from the New York Giants, caught seven passes for 71 yards in his first action for the Browns. In photos taken during the game, Beckham is wearing a limited Richard Mille watch. NFL spokesman Michael Signora said there are no rules prohibiting jewelry. However, the league does have a policy "prohibiting hard objects.

If I'm OBJ, which I'm not, I'd be happy that I got to wear it in one game, that it got some fun attention, and then I'd ditch it so all the focus and attention would be on the job at hand and not having reporters bother you with questions about a dumb watch.

Though there is a different direction that he can take here, one that would definitely go viral and be awesome. Instead of wearing a watch in a game, strap your phone to your belt in an OtterBox like some old father in a shopping mall and wear that onto the field.

The NFL would lose its mind over that one.

The Dallas Cowboys star was taking some heat for a video that showed him turning down a kid's autograph request on Sunday because the kid was wearing a Saquon Barkley Giants jersey. Lawrence tweeted about it Tuesday, telling people and the kid to suck it up, which is too funny. Listen, if you were a kid would you rather have a dumb autograph from a guy on a team you don't like, an autograph you'd probably lose track of pretty quickly, or have this funny video of a NFL star giving you a tough life lesson? I'd take the video all day and laugh at it for the rest of my life. By the way, Lawrence did something awesome for some kids on Tuesday.
