Odell Beckham says he plans to wear luxury watch during game again

Odell Beckham says he plans to wear luxury watch during game again Odell Beckham Jr made the bizarre decision to wear a luxury watch during the Cleveland Browns’ Week 1 game against the Tennessee Titans, and he apparently violated an NFL rule in the process. But until the league speaks to him about it directly, Beckham says he is not planning to make a wardrobe change. Beckham told reporters on Tuesday that he believes the watch would not have been an issue if any other player wore it or if it were less valuable. He also said the NFL has not spoken to him about it and he will continue to wear it. #Browns Odell Beckham Jr said he wants it to about football, not the watch.

Odell Beckham Jr . doesn't give a damn about the NFL 's jewelry policy 'cause the Cleveland Browns superstar says he's gonna keep wearing his flashy $ 350 k watch during games. Aside from the Brownies getting rocked by the Titans on Sunday, the biggest story coming out of Cleveland was OBJ

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr . makes the greatest catch of 2014, and arguably of all time.

Warren Sapp has a problem with Odell Beckham Jr.’s insistence on wearing a luxury watch during NFL games – but not because he doesn’t appreciate style.

“You can’t wear a $350,000 watch and play like a $2 bill,” Sapp, the Hall of Fame defensive tackle, told USA TODAY Sports. “That don’t get it done. It was a nice-looking watch. Matched the uniform and everything. But I’d love to see you in the end zone, dancing or something. C’mon, man.”

Beckham, the Cleveland Browns star receiver preparing for a return to the Big Apple with Monday night’s game at the New York Jets, has said he’ll keep wearing his Richard Mille timepiece. Beckham’s limited-edition watch retails for about $190,000 but has been priced online for as much as $350,000.

The NFL has a rule prohibiting players from wearing "hard objects," though he contended the watch is plastic and therefore should be permitted. Spokesman Michael Signora told ESPN that the league planned to speak with Beckham about the issue.

Beckham wore the watch during the Browns' 43-13 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday and recorded seven receptions for 71 yards.

WEEK 2 PICKS: Will Browns rebound against Jets on Monday night?

Sapp took a shot at OBJ while promoting his new weekly podcast, “99 Problems." A lightning rod himself during his heyday with the Buccaneers and Raiders, Sapp, who was fired from his NFL Network job in 2015 following an arrest during Super Bowl week (charges were later dropped), still has no shortage of edgy opinions, expressed on a different platform.

2-minute warning? NFL to speak with OBJ about wearing watch

2-minute warning? NFL to speak with OBJ about wearing watch CLEVELAND (AP) — The NFL plans to speak with Browns star Odell Beckham Jr. about wearing a watch during Sunday's game. The flashy, fashionable wide receiver sported an expensive watch — worth over $250,000 — during his debut with Cleveland, which was rolled 43-13 by the Tennessee Titans. Beckham, who came to Cleveland in a March trade from the New York Giants, caught seven passes for 71 yards in his first action for the Browns. In photos taken during the game, Beckham is wearing a limited Richard Mille watch. NFL spokesman Michael Signora said there are no rules prohibiting jewelry. However, the league does have a policy "prohibiting hard objects.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr . said Tuesday he plans to keep wearing a luxury watch worth up to $ 350 ,000 during games despite resistance from NFL officials, adding that he believes the league has singled him out for scrutiny.

Yes, Odell Beckham Jr . was wearing a watch during the Browns' Week 1 game against Tennessee. The NFL has sent notice to Odell Beckham Jr . that he’s not to wear the Richard Mille-designed timepiece he had on his wrist during Sunday’s game, enforcing the league ’s ban against

“I have no doubt that it’s all about you, son,” Sapp added of OBJ, alluding to Cleveland’s season-opening loss against Tennessee. “You want to talk about your watch? The score is my concern. Whenever I hear one of these prima donnas put their issue in a team statement, then I’d be a little more accepting about it.

“I’m trying to figure it out. It’s about wearing a $350,000 watch on a football field now?”

Then again, Sapp is only so old-school. During his 13-year career, he wore jewelry during a game – once. He said he learned a valuable lesson after wearing two earrings during a 1996 game at Carolina.

“It was muddy, nasty,” he recalled of the field conditions. “I came out in the third quarter, took my helmet off, my homeboy Pep (former Buccaneers defensive tackle Brad Culpepper) looked at me and said, ‘Your earrings got knocked off.’ I was like, ‘What?’ I touched both of my ears and they were gone. That was $3,500. I said that’s the last time. That’s the cheapest lesson I’m going to learn in this this league. That’ll never happen again.”

Odell Beckham Jr . drew plenty of attention during his Browns debut on Sunday for wearing a watch in an actual NFL game. He remembers Culpepper asking him on the sideline: “How much were those?”

“I’m like, ‘Shut up! I just threw away $3,500 in this (stadium) today.’ ”

Apparently, that buys no slack for OBJ.
