LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky junior linebacker Kash Daniel issued a vehement denial of allegations made by Florida fans on Twitter that he intentionally tried to injure Gators quarterback Kyle Trask during Saturday's game in Lexington.

"Do I talk a lot of crap? Absolutely," Daniel said after practice Wednesday. "Do I bump a dude here and there to get underneath his skin and talk while I’m doing it? Absolutely. That’s part of my game. It’s what I do. But am I out there to deliberately hurt somebody? Absolutely not."

I actually like Kyle Trask and I feel he will do great! Seeing him & Emory play should be very fun and interesting, I feel the playbook should open up a Not only was kash daniel caught on camera trying to injure Trask after the play, he was also right there, jumping in on the pile late for Franks' injury .

The incident in question occurred after Trask was stopped short on a two-point conversion attempt in the fourth quarter of the Gators' 29-21 win Saturday.

Florida fans began circulating a view of the play from the ESPN aerial camera which shows Daniel's hand near Trask's foot after the tackle. The video is shot from behind Daniel, so his arms are partially blocked by his body, and it is not clear what exactly happened. What is evident is Daniel at one point rips his hand from the pile and then exchanges words and goes chest to chest with Trask before being pulled away by a teammate.

Daniel's version of events is he was trying to remove his surgically repaired hand from the bottom of a pile of players.

"I’ve kept my mouth shut about it," Daniel said. "I’ve been biting my tongue about it as long as I can, because that’s something that I actually hold close to me. I’m a victim of a dirty play (in high school). If you don’t believe me, I’ve got a plate and seven screws in my right ankle to prove that. I’ve got a scar running halfway down my leg. I’m not out there to hurt anybody.

"...I pull my hand out there last second. I just pulled it out. I got it stuck underneath a lineman’s leg with all that weight on it. Then I pulled it free from that, kept hitting stuff, kept moving stuff and finally it came through. Maybe he felt something weird, but I’m not out there to twist nobody’s ankle or hurt nobody. End of story."

Asked about the play at his Monday news conference, Florida head coach Dan Mullen said the incident would be something for the SEC office to look at but he had not sent video of the play to league officials himself.

"I'm sure they've looked at it, and that's something that they would address," Mullen said, according to the Gainesville Sun.

Several Florida players have tweeted about the video, and Trask seemingly supported Florida fans' interpretation of events when he told reporters in Gainesville, "At the end of the day it's football. It is what it is. There's nothing I can do about it."

An SEC spokesman later told the Gainesville Sun feedback on any issues discovered during routine game film review by the league office is "identified confidentially to the involved program and is appropriately addressed at that time.”

Given the widely different interpretations of the incident and lack of clear video, it seems unlikely the SEC office would impose any penalty. Daniel is expected to play as normal for Kentucky on Saturday at Mississippi State.
