Officials are reportedly investigating whether severed legs found in May in the Susquehanna River were from a woman whose remains were recently found in Philadelphia.

Police acting on a tip entered a Philadelphia self-storage facility and found the dismembered remains of Brenda Jacobs, who had been missing for 16 years. Her ex-boyfriend has been arrested.

The Philadelphia district attorney's office says 49-year-old Jade Gillette Babcock was arraigned Wednesday on charges including abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence in Jacobs' death.

The district attorney's office says Babcock is expected to be charged with murder in Lycoming County, where the woman went missing.

ET Inside Buccaneers numbers: Tampa Bay had a rough time moving the ball through the air against the 49ers in Week 1. Jameis Winston accumulated only 194 yards across 36 attempts and 20 completions, averaging 5.4 yards per attempt and 9.7 yards per completion. Carolina does not seem to be any easier. In Week 1, the Panthers allowed Jared Goff to throw for only 4.

In addition, investigators told WNEP-16 they are investigating whether severed legs found in the Susquehanna River in May could belong to Jacobs.

Police found the legless body of Jacobs on Monday after receiving a tip from the suspect's current girlfriend. She had been missing since 2003 from Montoursville, about 180 miles northwest of Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Anthony Voci, of the Philadelphia district attorney's office, says Babcock confessed after his arrest. His attorney isn't listed.

The severed legs were found May 11 in the Susquehanna River near the Hepburn Street Dam in Williamsport, Lycoming County.

In June, investigators said the legs were cut at the knee and the toenails were painted pink, giving some indication that the victim may be female. There had be no missing persons cases in that area reported at that time.

With hot start, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes on pace to shatter NFL passing records

With hot start, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes on pace to shatter NFL passing records What Patrick Mahomes has done in the first two week of this season has him on pace to shatter records. © Kyle Terada-USA TODAY SportsLast season, his first as an NFL starter, Mahomes passed for 5,097 yards and 50 touchdowns, becoming the second quarterback in history to eclipse the 5,000-yard mark and throw at least 50 touchdowns. Not surprisingly, he won league MVP for his efforts. The big picture: At his current pace, Mahomes will not only smash his own best effort, but he’s on his way to re-writing history and setting benchmarks nobody in their right mind could have seen coming.
