A win — or even a tight game — against Clemson could be a program changer for UNC

A win — or even a tight game — against Clemson could be a program changer for UNC CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Earlier this month, after North Carolina's 28-25 upset victory over Miami, joyous Tar Heel fans leaving Kenan Stadium began to chant, "We want Clemson!" On Saturday, those fans will get their wish. But the Tar Heels, after opening the season 2-0, are on a downward skid. The No. 1 Tigers, who won the national title in January, are not. UNC (2-2, 1-0 ACC) will host Clemson (4-0, 1-0) in a sold-out game where the Tar Heels are 26.5-point underdogs.“I think they’re real good,” UNC coach Mack Brown said of Clemson at a press conference Monday, when asked what he thought of the number.

4 Football Fans A Redskins fan , an Eagles fan , a Ravens fan , and a Steelers fan are climbing a mountain and arguing about who loves his team more. The Redskins fan insists he is the most loyal.

One shot suggested a lady "thinks that Clemson is in Georgia." Another teased that a man "thinks 'The Fridge' (former Clemson All-American William Perry) is just a kitchen appliance."

While some Clemson fans accepted the jabs as good-natured ribbing, several denounced the display as classless and demeaning. Some shared their displeasure via social media. Some sent complaints to UNC athletic director Bubba Cunningham.

According to UNC associate athletic director for strategic communications Robbi Pickeral Evans, Cunningham apologized to Clemson president James Clements and athletic director Dan Radakovich on Sunday.

'It was hard to say no to Clemson.' UNC starting QB on being recruited by Tigers. When North Carolina quarterback Sam Howell leads North Carolina onto the field against Clemson on Saturday afternoon, it won't be the first time the Tigers coaching staff is getting an up close look at him. Howell, who was rated as a four-star recruit by the 247Sports Composite rankings, camped at Clemson as he was going through the recruiting process and earned an offer from the Tigers before ultimately signing with North Carolina. Howell said it was hard telling what is arguably the top program in college football no, but he is happy with where he ended up.“I really loved Clemson. My parents were both really big fans of Clemson.

Q: How do you know the North Carolina State Police are seriously enforcing the Speed Limits into Charlotte. A: For the first offense, they give you two Carolina Panthers tickets. Pickeral Evans said Cunningham "also has responded to all of the emails he has received so far about the video board spot."

"We want everyone who comes to Chapel Hill to have a positive experience on our campus — whether they are our supporters or our opponents’ fans, first-time visitors or long-time guests," Cunningham wrote. "The video board spot featuring Clemson fans on Saturday was not in that spirit.

"We regret that it was produced...We addressed the inappropriateness of the spot with the responsible staff members immediately after it was shown, and we will continue to address this week the breakdown in process that led to it."
