Sport Baker Mayfield injury update: 'No doubt' Browns QB (hip) will play vs. Patriots
Nick Bosa schools Baker Mayfield about ‘planting the flag’
San Francisco 49ers standout, rookie defensive lineman Nick Bosa has a long memory. And he must have been waiting to show the Cleveland Browns' Baker Mayfield how he never forgets.
Browns coach Freddie Kitchens shut down any doubt about whether Baker Mayfield will play against the Patriots after the quarterback experienced hip pain.
“He’ll be in better shape physically and he’ll be in a better place mentally too,’’ Kitchens told reporters Tuesday ().
Cleveland held Mayfield out of practice Tuesday, but Kitchens said they were just being cautious. Kitchens insisted there's "no doubt" he'll be 100 percent ready to face New England on Oct. 27.
“We’ve got to get him ready to play the last 10 games," Kitchens said.

Mayfield was injured Sunday on a scramble during the team's 32-28 loss to the Seahawks. He was seen a few plays later down on one knee in pain and was taken to the locker room for further evaluation between series, though he remained in the game.
"It hurts," Mayfield said of his hip after the game (). "But it's a physical game of football."
He said it felt "tender" but wouldn't use that as an excuse for the way he played. Mayfield completed 22 of 37 passes for 249 yards and one touchdown but with three interceptions and also rushed four times for 35 yards and one score.
Mayfield has struggled with turning the ball over this season as he leads the NFL with 11 interceptions, which is something Kitchens said Mayfield will have to continue to work on.
Browns need more from Baker Mayfield after another prime-time flop
It's not too late for the Browns given the state of the AFC North, but Baker Mayfield has to lift this team after another prime-time loss.
“I think each and every interception kind of has its own story," Kitchens. "To simply answer your question, I want Baker to continue to work to make better decisions and then we need to work around him to make sure that we are where we are supposed to be, how we are supposed to be there, catching balls and all those things.
"I have said it from the beginning that quarterback play is dictated so much by the people around him, being on the same page, being where you are supposed to be, how you are supposed to get there and things like that. We need to make sure that Baker is continuing to get better with his eyes, his reads and his throws."
The Browns (2-4) have their bye week this week before visiting the Patriots (6-0) in Week 8.
