The Patriots traded defensive lineman Michael Bennett to the Cowboys for a seventh-round pick that can ultimately become a sixth-round pick in 2021, a league source confirmed Thursday.

The 6-foot-4-inch, 275-pound Bennett, who was acquired this past offseason, was up-and-down in his brief time with the Patriots, a stretch that included 2.5 sacks, but also a one-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team.
