How the Astros got their swagger back

How the Astros got their swagger back WASHINGTON — Nearly half the room was filled with champions. Their rings, each studded with 25 natural sapphires and 214 diamonds, from 2017 still glimmered, if not in lock boxes, certainly in memories. They knew better than to feel as shaken as they had looked coming off the Minute Maid Park field last week. They were beleaguered from an embarrassing Game 2 loss that frittered away home-field advantage and put them down 2-0 in the World Series to the chest-pounding Washington Nationals, who were playing more like the Astros had two years ago.

Baker Mayfield has had a majorly disappointing sophomore season. The Browns faltered to a 2-6 record this past weekend despite the lofty expectations fans had entering the season. If that wasn't enough for you, it seems the Browns QB is a bit superstitious after he revealed the reason for ditching his handlebar mustache. The 24-year-old said he shaved on Sunday because of the start of "Movember" in addition to the fact he "didn't deserve" to rock the mustache after failing to win with it.

Well, perhaps Mayfield should have been more concerned with the rest of his look on Sunday, considering he was clowned on social media by just about everyone in the football world after showing up to his presser looking like a disheveled gambler who was down on his luck.

And based on the Browns' season, Mayfield may be trying out a lot more facial hair styles before he finds one that sticks, because even with the addition of Kareem Hunt in the backfield, it seems unlikely this team breaks out and makes a run.

Nonetheless, despite having his share of hiccups with the media this season, the handlebar-less Mayfield was able to keep his cool in this interview. Let's hope that signals a change coming to The Land.

Did your NFL team mess up by not drafting Lamar Jackson? .
Looking back at the 2018 NFL Draft to see who skipped over Jackson — and who’s paying for it.By the end of that season, he was the only one of those rookies to make a start in the postseason. He’s kept that pace alive in 2019, when his Ravens stand atop a depleted AFC North and look stronger every week. Jackson planted his flag as a potential MVP candidate by becoming the youngest quarterback to beat Bill Belichick (and his 8-0 Patriots) in 15 years.
