Jets coach says he has had 'productive' talks with Le’Veon Bell about his usage The New York Jets expected Le’Veon Bell to be the focal point of their offense when they signed him to a massive contract during the offseason, but head coach Adam Gase has not put that plan into action. Things certainly haven’t worked out during Adam Gase‘s first season in New York, but it sounds like the Jets head coach isn’t at risk of losing his job. Sources told Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News that “Woody and Christopher Johnson currently have no plans of making a coaching change at the end of the season.”

Even with the team’s putrid performance in 2019, it’s not entirely shocking that Gase will get at least a second season with the Jets. The team made a relatively big commitment to the coach when they signed him to a four-year deal that’s estimated to be worth upwards of $20M. Considering the front office turnover and injuries throughout the roster, you can’t necessarily blame the organization for giving Gase another chance.

Jets looking to trade Le’Veon Bell before Tuesday deadline: sources Could Le’Veon Bell’s time with the Jets already be coming to an end? The Daily News has learned that Gang Green is amenable to dealing the perennial Pro Bowl running back for the right price before the 4 p.m. trade deadline. Although it’s unclear what that price tag has been during discussions, there are legitimate buyers. The Jets would unload a big salary as general manager Joe Douglas looks to reshape the roster. Keep an eye on the Texans, Chiefs and Bills, who could use a dynamic running back. The Eagles likely would love to add Bell, but it appears that it would be cost prohibitive to add him.

With Gase overseeing the offense, he wants his defensive coordinator to completely take charge of that side “And that’s why whoever we bring here on the defense really needs to do a good job of making sure In Denver, Gase was Manning’s QB coach in 2012 and his offensive coordinator in 2013-14.

“We can help ourselves,” new Jets head coach Adam Gase told WFAN’s Mike Francesa last month. “We can improve quickly because we’re able to bring in “We have to find the right guys for us, the right fit, and make sure those guys want to be here,” Gase said during his appearance with Francesa.

Of course, that hasn’t stopped fans and pundits from calling for Gase’s firing. The plane was seen pulling a ‘FIRE ADAM GASE NOW’ banner over New York City this week (via the NYDN). This came after a (somewhat) surprising loss to the rebuilding Dolphins, dropping the Jets to 1-7 on the season.

Mehta also provides a long list of damning stats: the Jets rank last in the NFL in scoring, passing, and rushing. Considering Gase’s reputation as an offensive guru, the results are disappointing. Further, the head coach has been unwilling to take responsibility for the team’s performance, with one rival GM referring to Gase as “a professional excuse maker.”

Despite all of this, ownership isn’t ready to pull the plug. We all know things can change quickly in New York, but it’s sounding like Gase will be on the sideline come Week 1 of the 2020 campaign.

Christopher Johnson throws Adam Gase and rest of Jets under the bus by questioning their competitiveness Jets CEO Christopher Johnson penned the latest chapter of this lost season by revealing how he really feels about his terrible team. The owner’s brother was caught on video throwing everyone under the bus before Gang Green’s loss to the Jaguars on Sunday during an exchange with a fan, who told him that he had driven nine hours from Alabama to Jacksonville. “Yeah, well hopefully the team will actually show up this week,” said Johnson. FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Shortly before he was fired by the Miami Dolphins, Adam Gase requested a favor from one of his former pupils. He knew he would need some help convincing another team to take a chance on him so quickly after a disappointing three years as head coach of the Dolphins.

The job security of Jets coach Adam Gase has become a hot topic amid the team's awful start, but The Post's Brian Costello writes why Gase isn ' t 1. The question I have gotten more than any other from people both privately and in any interviews I’ve done recently is about Adam Gase and his future.
