Brady doesn’t strike me as the type of guy who would keep playing just to be someone’ s back up, which is usually how it ends for older players . I think he might play one more year as the starter: I expect him to be the first string QB for the 2019 regular season. In the off season the team will look

Guerrero, long a source of behind-the-scenes information about Brady, made an appearance Thursday on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show.” During the interview, Brady’s “body coach” shared what the 42-year-old veteran has had to say about how long the QB envisions playing.

Brady has repeatedly insisted he can play well into his late 40s, although it’s believed his more pragmatic prediction is that he’ll play until age 45 or so. It would seem, according to Guerrero, that each passing season actually extends Brady’s plan into another year.

“It all comes to commitment, really,” Guerrero said, as transcribed by WEEI. “No one thought you could play at the elite level in your late 30s, early 40s. That is something we always felt we could do. I have really wanted to be there to help him accomplish that goal. I certainly do believe that 45 is a very realistic goal.

“We talk about it all the time. Every year he just adds another year. He goes in and he’s like, ‘Guys, I feel so good still. I think I am going to go till 45.’ I am like, ‘OK.’ Now he’s like, ‘Alex, I think I can go like 46 or 47.’”

Reportedly, at least 11 teams will have representatives attending his workout Saturday in Atlanta.Kaepernick last played in the NFL during the 2016 season. He was released by the 49ers after that season and has not had an official workout for any team since that time. Both Brady and Belichick have declined to discuss the coach’ s decision to reduce Alex Guerrero’ s special team privileges, other than Brady crediting his Guerrero treated many of Brady ’ s teammates at his TB12 Center just outside the stadium in Patriot Place. But the Patriots also allowed Guerrero to

Brady, it merits noting, insisted in late October that he’s taking a “day-by-day” approach when it comes to his NFL future.

All the conjecture concerning Brady’s imminent and long-term career plans comes amid a report last month from ESPN’s Adam Schefter that lays out possible scenarios in that regard. With Brady set to become a free agent in 2020 after reworking his contract, it’s at least conceivable that the signal-caller could be playing his final season with the Patriots.

How that would play into how long Brady intends to continue his NFL career is unknown, but for now, Guerrero believes the quarterback is in it for the long haul.

Enjoy the final six weeks of the NFL regular season. For Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Philip Rivers, and Eli Manning, 2019 could be their final act.But then a thought struck me this week: Rivers isn’t the only aging gunslinger who may call it quits after the 2019 season.
