Sadly, an MRI confirmed the team’s worst fears. The injury will end Hood’s season and likely sideline him for the start of the 2020-21 season as well.

The 27-year-old was averaging 11.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game this season and entered hitting 49.3 percent from three-point range. He holds a $6 million player option for next season.

Robert Hood, 30, also was convicted of conspiracy, money laundering and sexual exploitation of a minor, according to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, which announced the sentence on Thursday. Police said Hood, who already had convictions on assault and drug charges, met the girl on the street in late 2017 and made her serve as a prostitute for six months, pocketing the money she made.
