It would not be a surprise to see GM John Dorsey part ways with Kitchens this offseason in favor of a more experienced head, but as Ian Rapoport of NFL.com writes, that is not the current plan.

The final nail in Freddie Kitchens’ coffin as the Cleveland Browns head coach came Sunday afternoon in Cincinnati.

Cleveland fell to the previously one-win Bengals by the score of 33-23. It resulted in a 6-10 2019 campaign and Kitchens being fired as the team’s head coach Sunday evening.

Immediately prior to being fired, Kitchens did not get a ringing endorsement from his players. That seemed to indicate the writing was on the wall here.

Needless to say, the NFL world had its reactions to Sunday night’s news.
