MLB rumors: Yankees still open to trading J.A. Happ; Mets shopping Jed Lowrie, Dominic Smith in package deal Here are the latest hot stove news and notesEven after Domingo German was suspended 81 games under MLB's domestic violence policy, the Yankees remain open to trading left-hander J.A. Happ, reports the New York Post's Ken Davidoff. Happ has been on the trade block all offseason, even before the Yankees signed Gerrit Cole, and clearing even just part his $17 million salary would ease the club's luxury tax burden in 2020.

The deal includes two option years that could make the total value of the contract more than $80 million.

The 22-year-old Robert hit .328 with 32 home runs and 36 steals across three levels in 2019, including 16 homers in 47 games at Class AAA.

Last spring, the White Sox signed Eloy Jimenez to a six-year, $43 million deal. Jimenez wound up making the opening day roster and finished fourth in AL Rookie of the Year voting.

With Robert's impending arrival, Chicago has a terrific young core also featuring shortstop Tim Anderson and third baseman Yoan Moncada.

They've made a quite splash this winter as well, bringing back first baseman Jose Abreu, signing free agents Yasmani Grandal, Dallas Keuchel and Gio Gonzalez and trading for right fielder Nomar Mazara.
