John Donovan leaves Jaguars to become Univ. of Washington’s offensive coordinator

John Donovan leaves Jaguars to become Univ. of Washington’s offensive coordinator There was some speculation that Kellen Moore might take the offensive coordinator job at the University of Washington this offseason, but word this week has been that he’s staying in that position with the Cowboys and there’s more evidence that he’s staying put. © Brian Rothmuller/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images Two footballs with the Washington Huskies' logo on them during a college football game between the Washington Huskies and the UCLA Bruins on October 6, 2018 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA. Washington head coach Jimmy Lake announced on Friday that John Donovan will be the school’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

The Vikings were seeking a new offensive coordinator after Kevin Stefanski left to become the Browns’ head coach. Head coach Mike Zimmer has said this offseason that he thinks the Vikings’ offensive system is fundamentally sound and doesn’t need to be radically remade, so it’s not surprising that he decided to stay in house for Stefanski’s replacement.

Kubiak’s son, Vikings quarterbacks coach Klint Kubiak, was also thought to be a candidate for the offensive coordinator job, but he’ll apparently work under his dad for another season.
