Miami Dolphins to cut Pro Bowl safety Reshad Jones

Miami Dolphins to cut Pro Bowl safety Reshad Jones Reshad Jones’ 10-year run with the Miami Dolphins has come to an end. The Dolphins will release Jones, a two-time Pro Bowl safety, when the new league year begins next week. The move will become official March 18. His release will free up $5.3 million against the Dolphins’ salary cap, giving them nearly $100 million in cap space -- the most of any NFL team. “We want to thank Reshad for everything he has done for the Miami Dolphins,” general manager Chris Grier said in a statement. “I have known Reshad since spending time with him at Georgia and have been impressed with everything he’s been able to accomplish. We wish him the best moving forward.

Burrow has made the media rounds at Super Bowl LIV, and the most interesting thing he said came on “The Dan Patrick Show.” "You want to go No. 1 . But you also LSU QB Joe Burrow , the leader in the clubhouse to go 1 st overall , has selected ex-NFL QB Jordan Palmer for his pre-draft training, I 'm told.

Former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow could etch his name in the history books if he's selected by the Cincinnati Bengals first overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Burrow took home the Heisman Trophy as college football's best player, won the national championship in his final collegiate game and, if he is drafted No. 1 overall, he'll become the first player since free-agent quarterback Cam Newton to check all three of those boxes, according to NFL Research.

Burrow was a standout in his final two seasons with LSU and put up 5,671 yards, 60 touchdowns and just six interceptions in 2019.

Joe Burrow says he won’t pull an Eli Manning (or, for older fans, a John Elway) and refuse to play for the Cincinnati Bengals . It was a topic because Burrow hadn’t clearly stated whether he would be happy to play for the Bengals . On Tuesday at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis, he cleared it

In 1975, Steve Bartkowski sat where Joe Burrow does today. The Falcons traded with the Colts a few days before the draft and selected the Cal quarterback with the No. 1 overall choice. The Falcons were bad before Bartkowski got there.

Newton actually didn't even come close to those numbers passing in his final season with Auburn in 2010, throwing for 2,854 yards with 30 touchdowns and seven interceptions, but he was a terror on the ground with 1,473 rushing yards with 20 scores.

Newton was the first overall pick by the Carolina Panthers in the 2011 NFL Draft and found plenty of success with the organization before suffering multiple injuries that derailed his career, winning league MVP in 2015 and winning the NFC.

Bengals fans, of course, hope Burrow is the choice and takes Cincinnati back to contender status.

NFL draft prop bets: Will LSU or Alabama have more players picked in the first round? .
If you wanted to prepare for the NFL draft, just put on last season’s Alabama-LSU game. It seems inconceivable that two schools could collect so much NFL talent. Alabama and LSU have the same line for total players selected in the first round: 5.5. It’s possible we see 10-12 Alabama or LSU players go in the first round, starting with LSU quarterback Joe Burrow at No. 1 and perhaps Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa second overall. LSU won that game last season against Alabama 46-41 and won a national title, but which school will have more first-round picks?
