Peyton Manning might not be joining the Monday Night Football broadcast booth next season, but the NFL legend and College Football Hall of Famer surprised Tennessee students during a class broadcast on Thursday. As students in a communications class settled in, they were surprised when the professor called out a specific student for being late to the online session.

As soon as Manning’s face appeared on screen, you could see the moment of shock on all the students’ faces as they realized who they saw on their screen.


Admittedly, Manning did provide a pretty good reason for being late since it’s been nearly two decades since his attendance was required. Of course, the professor had the perfect response by reminding Manning about the kind of consequences there would have been for Manning if it happened in person.

After some fun back-and-forth between Manning and his former communications professor, the legendary quarterback offered some words of wisdom for the students. Of course, some of them might have missed hearing all of it as they quickly texted their friends about what happened.

The senior year in college is supposed to be about making memories that last for a lifetime. While schools closing down might have taken that away from them, at least these students will have one moment they can always remember.
