Houston Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni and his wife, Laurel, donated $100,000 on Thursday to the Greater Houston COVID-19 Recovery Fund, according to Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston.

“The recovery fund will help the most vulnerable of our neighbors meet their basic needs and will help impactful nonprofits in our area serve our community through the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic aftermath,” the fund’s official website states.

The coronavirus recovery fund is endorsed by Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo.

“The city of Houston, everybody right now is in the same boat,” the 68-year old D’Antoni told Berman. “We’re trying to help out where we can. “When you go to war, you go to war. The whole community has to band together and do what we can do.”
