The COVID-19 pandemic across the globe has taken away so much of the everyday things that people love. In a time when everyone is feeling down and we don’t have baseball to provide an escape, legendary broadcaster Vin Scully offered the words of encouragement we all need to hear during these difficult times.

Even more importantly, Scully offered precious words of wisdom and perspective that can help so many during the COVID-19 pandemic. While the situation might be scary, Scully reminds everyone that we’ve made it through difficult circumstances before and always come out stronger and more unified.

Pull up a chair and hear Vin Scully give a message of hope and optimism

Pull up a chair and hear Vin Scully give a message of hope and optimism We are surrounded by a cacophony of chaos, our lives filled with words of warning and dread and doom. I need a sound of spring. This being the formerly opening week of the postponed baseball season, I crave the melodious tones of the ballpark, the bunting, the hope. So, what the heck, I call Vin Scully. And, wouldn't you know, he answers on the first ring. "Hello Bill Plaschke, how are you?" I need a sound of spring. This being the formerly opening week of the postponed baseball season, I crave the melodious tones of the ballpark, the bunting, the hope.

The message couldn’t have come at a more perfect time and from a better person. Let’s hope Scully’s voice and wisdom provide some help to people during this pandemic.
