Report: Clemson's Watson and his quick release to visit Texans

Report: Clemson's Watson and his quick release to visit Texans Clemson QB Deshaun Watson reportedly will visit Houston Texans. It's imperative for the Texans to find a QB who fits the mold coach Bill O'Brien desires, as well as someone who personally gets along and understands the QB-centric coach. That was not the case with Brock Osweiler, which is one of the biggest reasons the Texans are once again shopping for a quarterback.

The rise of new Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson can't be told without what his mother has done for him and his family.

While battling cancer, she raised Watson and his three siblings, and later worked to get a new Habitat for Humanity house that ended up furnished by a charity run by former Atlanta Falcons running back Warrick Dunn.

After the Texans traded up to grab the Clemson product, Watson read a letter from his mother that brought him to tears:

Deshaun Watson issues stern warning to teams ranking Mitchell Trubisky above him

Deshaun Watson issues stern warning to teams ranking Mitchell Trubisky above him Watson shares his thoughts on Trubisky possibly going ahead of him in the draft. Many view Trubisky as the better prospect, but at least one person takes exception to that claim. On “Good Morning Football” Tuesday, Watson issued a warning to every NFL team considering drafting Trubisky ahead of him.

An excerpt from the end of the beautiful note:

"I wish you love, happiness and longtime success. As I look back, we were not supposed to be here. In the words of Drake, we made it. Love, Mom."

Rick Smith: Deshaun Watson ‘will compete’ for starting job .
Given that the Houston Texans traded up in the 2017 NFL Draft to select Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson, it’s fair to wonder when we might see him in the field. Head coach Bill O’Brien has stated that Tom Savage is still the team’s starter. But on ESPN Radio’s Stephen A. Smith Show, general manager Rick Smith said that Watson will have his chance to earn the job.“We want to provide a competitive environment across the board. So [Watson will] compete,” the general manager said, as transcribed by ESPN’s Sarah Barshop. “[But] like I said, we feel good about Tom and his abilities to manage the offense.
