With his 44.5 inch vertical and all the other amazing numbers he is putting up, scouts and prognosticators are projecting Diallo to sneak into the NBA lottery this season despite the fact he sat the bench his entire time at Kentucky last season.

John Calipari did an interview with ESPN (via cincinnati.com) at the combine and offered this fun tidbit.

Broncos sign veteran RB Jamaal Charles reportedly to one-year deal

Broncos sign veteran RB Jamaal Charles reportedly to one-year deal When healthy, Charles is one of the best running backs in the NFL.Excited to have Jamaal Charles join the Broncos.

"If he’s a lottery pick, I’m retiring, I’m done. There’s nothing more I can do," the Kentucky head coach said with a laugh. "He has a chance of being drafted and doing all this stuff. That’s what we’re supposed to be doing. People are mad, ‘He didn’t play!’ This is what this is for. And if at the end of the day, if someone's going to draft him in the first round, 21, 25, lottery pick, it’s hard for me to tell him to come back.”

Diallo has not hired an agent so he can still decide by May 24 to go back to college. But it's going to be hard for Calipari to tell him to come back if he's expected to go high in the draft.

And with the way the NBA Draft has worked over the last few years, there's certainly a chance Diallo does get drafted high. Thon Maker was drafted 10th overall in 2016 by the Bucks after skipping his freshman year of college, and Calipari's own Enes Kanter was drafted fourth overall after being ruled ineligible for his freshman year at Kentucky.

Lonzo Ball unveils his first Big Baller Brand signature shoe for nearly $500

Lonzo Ball unveils his first Big Baller Brand signature shoe for nearly $500 Not bad, Lonzo Ball. Not bad at all.The former UCLA standout unveiled his first line of kicks on Thursday, and they’re not bad:

“It would have to be in the first round and probably 21, 22, something like that," Calipari said of the projected draft position at which it would make sense for Diallo to stick to his plan to turn pro. "They’re looking at him four, five years down the road. The issue becomes, you’re going to be in the D-League for a while. Are you going to accept that? The other thing I want to tell you, from 17-21, you’re making a million dollars a year. Their investment isn’t like five million a year where they’re going to give you time. The better position to be drafted, the more they’re investing in you.”
