Peyton Manning announced as host of 2017 ESPYs

ESPN announced on Tuesday that Peyton Manning will serve as host of the 2017 ESPYs. “It’s an honor to be asked to host the ESPYS, and it’s even more meaningful that it’s the 25th year for this incredible event,” Manning said in a statement, via ESPN. “The ESPYS have been a part of my life during my entire career. Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic are officially breaking up

ESPN's famous Mikes are splitting up. Mike Greenberg will begin a new morning show on January 1, 2018, the network announced on Tuesday. According to the network, the show will feature "several" full-time co-hosts, guests and contributors. It will air from 7-10 am ET on ESPN - a spot currently held by SportsCenter - and then re-air on ESPN2 at 10 am ET. Reports of Mike and Mike splitting up have been circulating for months. The two have been together since Greenberg first filled in as a co-host on Golic's ESPN radio show in 1998.

The tense, deteriorating relationship between ESPN Radio's Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic

Off-camera tension between media personalities who work together is hardly a new phenomenon. ESPN Radio is now experiencing some off-camera issues of its own. Multiple ESPN staffers, including current and former employees who have had roles with the show, told SI.com last week that the once-warm relationship between partners Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic has turned icy over the last year, prompting a number of ESPNers to predict that the show will conclude long before this December’s contractual end. The sources said Greenberg and Golic are not talking to each other off the set-and hardly at all before the show or during commercial breaks.
