Houston Rockets guard Austin Rivers left the Orlando bubble because of an urgent family matter, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

No further details have been provided regarding Rivers' exit, though he expects to return to the NBA campus sometime this weekend, Charania reports.

Upon returning, Rivers may have to undergo a 10-day quarantine in his room before he can rejoin the team for basketball activities. However, NBA protocol reportedly states that players with an excused absence only need to isolate for four days if they register negative coronavirus tests daily during their absence.

The 27-year-old averaged 8.5 points and 2.4 rebounds in 60 games for Houston this season.
