Sport Dak Prescott continues to make Skip Bayless look like an ignorant fool
Has Doug Pederson ‘reached his limit’ with Philadelphia Eagles?
This isn’t a question of Pederson’s abilities as a head coach. He boasts a 38-27 career record in the regular season and the Eagles have made the playoffs in three consecutive years. Keep in mind, Pederson has done all of this with his franchise quarterback often hurt and impact players on both sides of the ball sidelined. He is also very familiar with the grueling lifestyle that comes with being at the highest level. He spent his entire playing career as a backup quarterback, playing for six different organizations.

A few weeks ago Dak Prescott opened up about the depression he struggled through during the offseason after his brother committed suicide near the beginning of the coronavirus quarantine. He talked about seeking out help for the anxiety and depression he was struggling through, which got so bad that he didn’t even want to work out or do anything.

It was a courageous move by the Dallas Cowboys QB to open up about his mental health, a move that will likely help lots of other people out in the process.
Skip Bayless, who makes a boatload of money to say dumb things on FS1, wasn’t a fan of Prescott’s honesty andbecause, apparently to Skip, a NFL QB can’t show any type of emotions or vulnerabilities.
It was stupid and dangerous thing to say and, but that won’t happen because the folks at FS1 have way too much invested in him, unfortunately.
Prescott’s leadership has never been an issue and it has only gotten stronger since he shared his struggles with the world. His words likely made many who felt alone with their struggles feel not so alone anymore, which is so damn important when dealing with these issues.
Cardinals add WR Jaron Brown to practice squad
In the top of the second inning, Angels Shohei Ohtani and Justin Upton hit back-to-back home runs, followed later in the inning with a solo shot by Anthony Bemboom.
On Tuesday, the Atlanta Falcons shared a video from after Sunday’s loss to the Cowboys that shows. Atlanta tight end Hayden Hurst ran over to Prescott as the teams exited the field and said to Dak:
“I’ve got a lot of respect for what you did. Came out and talked about — me and my mom have a foundation about suicide prevention. Respect the hell outta you for talking about it, man.”
It’s a great video that shows that nobody is running away from Dak for what he said, instead they are running to him, which is just so awesome.
Prescott is the leader of the Cowboys, but more importantly he’s a leader for those like Hurst who know firsthand how hard things can be when your mental health is suffering and how hard it can be to share those experiences with the world.
Hurst has battled addiction in his past and attempted to commit suicide in 2016 when he was at the University of South Carolina. His uncle and a cousin committed suicide.
Top 2020 NFL MVP candidates
We are now two full weeks through the 2020 NFL season. There’s been some brutal quarterback play in those first two weeks. However, there’s also been some standout signal-callers making major noise. © Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY Sports Patrick Mahomes has started the season right where he left off. Typically, this is the position that dominates the NFL MVP race. We’ve seen it at a near never-ending clip in recent years. In fact, each of the past seven NFL MVP awards have gone to quarterbacks. The last non-quarterback to win the award was Adrian Peterson back in 2012.
“To be totally honest with you, when I saw what Skip Bayless said, it just really upset me — that Dak had the courage to come out and talk about that and how it affected his family, how it affected him — and those [Bayless] comments, I thought, were just disgusting. For a guy to come out and talk about that topic and use his platform to try and help and save lives, I’ve got nothing but respect for him because I know how hard it is going through stuff like that.
The more we talk about mental health the better we all will be. Bayless’ take on Prescott was dumb at the time and it only gets worse when you look back at it.
Thankfully, we have people like Dak Prescott and Hayden Hurst out there doing what they are doing and helping people by being so open about their struggles.
We need more of that.
And less of those dumb takes by Bayless.
