Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports St. Louis was a team that was hit hard by the pandemic, causing the salary cap to flatten out. All of a sudden, instead of either trying to add to their roster or at least keep it intact, the Blues have already had to move out one veteran on the cheap after sending Jake Allen to Montreal for a relatively low return of a third-round pick.

On the start of the season in Rennes

How do you explain this good start to the season?

There was a very good preparation and the result is there: we started well and that is what we set for ourselves, to take the maximum points very quickly.

There is also a certain continuity in the group with few departures to regret ...

It's true that we are starting to know each other well. The new players who arrived have been integrated well so that's perfect.

Rennes is it armed to play the spoilsport at the top of the table?

Yes, we are armed as we were last year.

We have the feeling that Stade Rennais has become a big player in the championship.

We work for. The club continues to grow and so do we, as men and players. Stade Rennais is becoming more professional. The club is showing its ambitions and that is good for us players because we are competitors and we want to be the best possible.

Red Wings loan Michael Rasmussen to Austria

Red Wings loan Michael Rasmussen to Austria Both team and player hope that this assignment to Graz will help him get off to a much-needed hot start. Rasmussen should undoubtedly be the best player in the 99ers’ lineup and should be able to focus on working on the shortcomings of his game while still contributing to the club’s games. A strong stint in Austria could not only help with Rasmussen’s skill and hockey sense but could provide a confidence boost that follows him into training camp.Subscribe to Yardbarker's Morning Bark, the most comprehensive newsletter in sports.

What is this group giving off?

The joy of living even if the start of the season has a lot to do with it. We're a great bunch of friends and on the weekends we want to tear each other apart and that’s something to keep until the end of the season.

Do you feel a different collective strength compared to last season?

It's different. We know what we've been through. There was confinement and today we realize how lucky we are to be able to play football so we try to give for each other. It is collectively that we will achieve something.

On the match against Saint-Étienne

Is this match against Saint-Étienne a different match insofar as first place is at stake?

It’s only day 4. We should not take the lead today with the standings. We want to win games by giving our maximum regardless of the opponent in front.

Keys to the Colorado Avalanche's 2020 offseason

Keys to the Colorado Avalanche's 2020 offseason The Syracuse Orange defended their home turf with a 37-20 victory over Georgia Tech. Syracuse quarterback Tommy DeVito threw for 194 yards and 2 touchdowns, and running back Sean Tucker rushed for 112 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win.

Saint-Étienne, is it above the other opponents that you may have encountered?

It will be different from the friendly (won 3-0 by SRFC). We must not forget that their preparation was very heavy with a Coupe de France final to prepare and heavy emotions because they did not win it. There, it will be another team from Saint-Étienne.

What does this very young team set up by Claude Puel inspire you?

Passion, like our young people here. They have a lot of offensive quality and defensively it's very strong. Now we need to work out the details to be ready on Saturday.

It’s also an opportunity to take stock and strike a blow in the spirits.

Yes and no because we can very well measure ourselves against teams like Metz, without disrespecting them. All the matches will be difficult, we must not underestimate the opponents.

On the Champions League…

The draw is approaching and there is the likelihood of playing this competition in a Roazhon Park in front of few or no spectators…

It's quite frustrating. But this weekend, they were 5,000 and made noise like 10,000 people. If there are only 1,000, we will hope that they make noise like 5,000 people. We will still play hard.

On the good start of the season for his training club

What do you feel when you see Lens performing well in Ligue 1.

It's always good to see his training club at this level. We had been trying to go up for a few years. I have experienced the climb, the descent, but I'm very happy to see Lens at this level and see what this team gives off on the pitch. I hope they continue like this except against us of course.
