The Australian professional cyclist Richie Porte is returning to his old employer in the coming season after two years at Trek-Segafredo.
The third place on the Tour will be driving again for the top team Ineos Grenadiers, which last disappointed at the Tour de France. The racing team announced this on Friday.
The 35-year-old had been under contract with the Ineos predecessor team Sky from 2012 to 2015.
"Richie's well-deserved podium finish in the Tour de France has shown once again that he is one of the best riders in the peloton. He is a world class climber, also a rouleur. He has a lot to offer the team with all his experience," said Ineos team manager Dave Brailsford.
Ineos Grenadiers also announced the signing of Dauphine winner Dani Martinez (Colombia) from EF Education First, Belgian Laurens De Plus from competitor Jumbo-Visma and British hope Tom Pidcock.
