Steven Stamkos returns to Lightning lineup for Game 3 of Stanley Cup Final
After 211 days, Steven Stamkos is back. The Tampa Bay Lightning captain is officially in the lineup for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final on Wednesday night.Stamkos makes his 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs debut nearly two months after the postseason began, a feat made possible only by his team’s ability to reach the Cup Final. Stamkos suffered a core injury in late February that required surgery. While he was initially given a timeline of six-to-eight weeks, core surgery rehab often exceeds expectations. Yet, many still hoped that Stamkos would be ready for the beginning of the postseason.

Prediction: Tampa Bay came out firing last game with 2 goals in the first period and 3 in the second, that is a tough challenge to overcome being down 5-1 going into the third. I think the value is still on Dallas is this game, they have the chance to even it up before they play again tomorrow.

Condensed season puts more pressure on goaltending
Even those teams with outstanding starters will be looking for legitimate backup options as we head towards the condensed 2020-21 season. It may not even end up needing the “2020” part, given the regular season is now not expected to start until January. If that’s the case and the league continues to remain steadfast on playing the full 82-game schedule, next season will be extremely difficult on starting goaltenders. Back-to-back situations will come up much more frequently, with three-in-four-nights often also becoming the norm.

Minnesota Wild shopping Ryan Donato .
With just 23 points in 62 games and a roller-coaster history, it’s not clear what Donato’s real trade value would be. One thing in the Wild’s favor is his cost — he’ll carry a $1.9M cap hit in 2020-21 before becoming a restricted free agent once again.
