Winners, losers from Browns’ win over Bengals on Thursday Night Football

Winners, losers from Browns’ win over Bengals on Thursday Night Football The Browns outlasted the Bengals in the battle of the Buckeye state. After having one of the worst quarterback performances in Week 1, Baker Mayfield responded with a gem in Week 2. Facing a much easier opponent, Cleveland’s offense rolled early on Thursday with big plays from Nick Chubb, Odell Beckham Jr. and Mayfield. By halftime, the Browns jumped out to a 21-13 lead.

A key NFC showdown between powerful clubs awaits on Sunday Night Football as the surging Green Bay Packers visit the New Orleans Saints. Kickoff from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome is set for 8:20 p.m. ET. The Packers have looked like an offensive juggernaut with 85 combined points in their first two games, a 43-34 road win over the Minnesota Vikings and a 42-21 home victory over the Detroit Lions. The Saints squandered a double-digit lead in a 34-24 road loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday, but they opened their 2020 campaign with a 34-23 home win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Before making any Saints vs. Packers picks or NFL predictions for Sunday Night Football, make sure you see what SportsLine's R.J. White has to say, given the epic run he's on picking games involving Green Bay or New Orleans.

SportsLine's resident stats guru has twice cashed big in the world's most prestigious handicapping tournament, the Westgate Las Vegas SuperContest. He tied for 18th out of 2,748 contestants in 2017 with a 52-29-4 mark against the spread. White also cashed big-time in the 2015 SuperContest.

The best one-and-done NFL seasons

The best one-and-done NFL seasons Although the sports world is experiencing unprecedented chaos, the NFL's free agency window remains scheduled to open next week. This could mean standouts like Jadeveon Clowney could be heading elsewhere after previously relocating in 2019

White has consistently crushed his NFL picks against the spread for SportsLine members. He's on a 26-14 heater dating to last season that has netted a profit of more than $1,000 to $100 players. He also has posted a sterling 15-6 mark to start the 2020 season.

What's more, White has an astounding track record of success on against-the-spread picks involving these clubs. He has posted a 6-3 record on the Saints and a whopping 38-6 mark on the Packers that includes telling SportsLine members to back Green Bay (-6) against the Detroit Lions last week, helping run his record to an astonishing 44-9 combined on these teams. Anyone who has followed him is way up.

Now, White has locked in on Saints vs. Packers from every angle and released a confident against-the-spread pick. You can visit SportsLine now to see it. Here are several NFL lines from William Hill and trends for Packers vs. Saints:

Hingle-USA TODAY Sports The Green Bay Packers are now one of eight undefeated teams around the NFL following Sunday’s Week 3 action. Taking on a Saints squad reeling from a Week 2 loss to the Raiders, Green Bay pretty much controlled the momentum on “Sunday Night Football.” Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdowns while being protected by his offensive line at a high level.

  • Packers vs. Saints spread: New Orleans -3
  • Packers vs. Saints over-under: 53 points
  • Packers vs. Saints money line: New Orleans -170, Green Bay +150
  • GB: Packers are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 games against opponents with winning records.
  • NO: The favorite has covered six of the last seven meetings in this series.

Why the Saints can cover

White knows the Saints, who have won three consecutive NFC South titles, are eager to put together a balanced performance following uneven outings in the first two weeks. Their defense, which made the difference in Week 1 against Tampa Bay, allowed the Raiders to rack up 375 yards of total offense in their Las Vegas debut. The Raiders also went 10-for-17 on third-down conversions and made both of their fourth-down attempts.

New Orleans was also uncharacteristically penalized 10 times for 129 yards and lost the time of possession battle by a nearly two-to-one margin. Even so, the Saints managed 424 yards of total offense despite missing leading receiver Michael Thomas, who's out because of an ankle injury suffered in Week 1. Coach Sean Payton and quarterback Drew Brees have vowed to achieve more production against a Packers club that has allowed 55 combined points while winning its first two games.

Packers WR Allen Lazard out indefinitely after core muscle surgery

Packers WR Allen Lazard out indefinitely after core muscle surgery The Packers could now be without their top two receivers heading into Monday’s game against the Falcons. Davante Adams remains questionable with a hamstring injury, which could leave Green Bay with Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Malik Taylor and recent practice squad call-up Darrius Shepherd as the only receivers. At minimum, you can expect the Packers to add one receiver to the group over the weekend, possibly Robert Foster, Caleb Scott or Juwann Winfree from their expanded 16-man unit.So far, Aaron Rodgers has loved what he’s seen from the 24-year-old former undrafted free agent.

Why the Packers can cover

The Packers trailed the Lions, 14-3, after the first quarter before exploding for a 31-0 run spanning the second and third quarters to put the game out of reach. Aaron Jones ran for a career-high 168 yards and scored three touchdowns, while Aaron Rodgers had a steady day with 240 passing yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions.

The defense clamped down after the first quarter, allowing just one late touchdown the rest of the way. The Packers sacked Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford four times and the pass rush forced an interception by Chandon Sullivan that was returned for a touchdown. Green Bay is hopeful that Davante Adams (hamstring) will be able to return to the lineup, but he'll likely miss Sunday Night Football.

Betting Info - West Virginia - Yahoo Sports .
West Virginia is known for its rather conservative way of life and laws, but when it comes to gambling, it is one of the most progressive states in the U.S. Betting on horse racing has been legal in WV since the 1930s, and the same goes for greyhound tracks. The big break for legal sports betting came in 2018 when the US Supreme Court’s ruling overturned the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act and gave each state the authority to create their own laws surrounding sports betting. West Virginia led the way in sports betting legalization and became the fifth legal sports betting state in the US in August 2018.
