Lazard will be out for the foreseeable future, testing the Packers ’ depth at wide receiver. If Davante Adams is indeed on his way back from a hamstring injury, his return can’t come soon enough. The Packers could now be without their top two receivers heading into Monday’s game against the Falcons. Davante Adams remains questionable with a hamstring injury, which could leave Green Bay with Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Malik Taylor and recent practice squad call-up Darrius Shepherd as the only receivers. At minimum, you can expect the Packers to add one receiver to the group over the weekend, possibly Robert Foster, Caleb Scott or Juwann Winfree from their expanded 16-man unit.

Opinion: Two weeks in, Detroit Lions' season essentially over after flop in Green Bay

Opinion: Two weeks in, Detroit Lions' season essentially over after flop in Green Bay It's hard to find much reason for confidence in the Detroit Lions after Matt Patricia's crew got off to an 0-2 start this season. This time the Detroit Lions had the decency to implode in the first half, politely freeing up the rest of the Sunday afternoon for their heartsick devotees. It was the least they could do after teasing those who love them so mercilessly to start the game.

Lazard has already had surgery , and will be out indefinitely . He had six catches for 146 yards and a touchdown in the win over the Saints. There’s a chance Davante Adams returns Monday against the Falcons, otherwise the Packers will be extremely thin at the position with Marquez Valdes-Scantling

Lazard missed practice Thursday with a core muscle injury. ESPN’s Rob Demovsky reports that core muscle specialist Dr. William Meyers will look at Lazard ’s scans to help determine the next course of action if that includes surgery . Lazard has 13 catches for 254 yards and two touchdowns this season

So far, Aaron Rodgers has loved what he’s seen from the 24-year-old former undrafted free agent. Unfortunately, he’ll have to wait a while before he gets to work with him again.

“He was as productive as just about anybody in camp, and I really like his approach,” Rodgers said (via ESPN.com). “He’s the one who’s always in Davante’s ear, listening to what he’s talking about. Damn near every time I come in the Hutson Center during training camp when we’re starting practice, I walk in and do the same thing, put my helmet down. And Shep is picking Davante’s brain about releases and certain things. And look, I try and pay attention as much as I possibly can, but that sticks with you. That impacts you. You’re seeing just that desire to improve and get better. And then you see it on the field.”
