Anthony Davis reportedly planning to opt out, re-sign with Lakers
Davis is eligible to sign a five-year max contract with the Lakers that would be worth around $200 million, but it seems unlikely he will go that route. Instead, he could sign a two-year deal at roughly $68 million with a player option for the second year. Davis could also sign a three-year deal at the same average annual salary with a player option for the third year. That scenario may appeal to him the most.If Davis signs a two-plus-one contract and opts out after two years, he would then enter free agency in 2022 with 10 years of service. That would make him eligible to sign a contract worth 35% of the salary cap.
Toronto Raptors guard Terence Davis was arrested in New York on Tuesday, police told USA TODAY Sports.
Det. Sophia Mason of the New York Police Department confirmed Davis was arrested on charges of assault and criminal mischief following an argument with a 20-year-old woman who described herself to authorities as Davis' girlfriend.
Police responded to an incident around 8:30 p.m., Mason said. The woman visited Davis at The Beekman, a luxurious lower Manhattan hotel. A verbal dispute preceded Davis allegedly striking the woman in the face and causing a "substantial amount of pain" to an eye. Davis also allegedly grabbed the woman's phone and broke the screen.
The Woman With the Pink Tennis Shoes Is Walking a Fine Line
Like other Democrats trying to flip Republican-held districts, Wendy Davis is trying to woo moderates without alienating progressives.Davis nodded sympathetically—she gets this a lot. In 2013, Davis went from Texas state senator to feminist folk hero when she filibustered a bill to effectively close all but five abortion clinics in the state. Lean In feminism was sweeping the nation, and Sheryl Sandberg couldn’t have asked for a better standard-bearer for her gospel of sharp-elbowed female empowerment.

Davis appeared in 72 games as a rookie in 2019-20. He averaged 7.5 points in nearly 17 minutes per game and shot 38.8% from three while earning All-Rookie second team honors. Undrafted out of Ole Miss, Davis played for the Denver Nuggets in Summer League in 2019 before signing with the Raptors.

Patrick Mahomes wants to see Raptors play in Kansas City next season
The Raptors are currently the NBA’s only team based in Canada. The Blue Jays, Canada’s only MLB team, faced a similar problem this season and played their home games in Buffalo, N.Y. As for Kansas City, it has not hosted NBA basketball since the Kansas City Kings relocated to Sacramento, Calif. in 1985. Mahomes himself played basketball in high school and once even got into hot water for partaking in a game of pickup hoops. Thus, he is obviously an enthusiast of the game and would love to see the Raptors make their way to town.Subscribe to Yardbarker's Morning Bark, the most comprehensive newsletter in sports.
