NBA Power Rankings: The way, way too early offseason edition Of course the Lakers start on top, but after that things get unpredictable. 1. Lakers (52-19 last season). LeBron James and Anthony Davis won the Lakers one title, and as long as those two are on the roster L.A. is a contender for another. This summer, Davis will opt-out then re-sign, but the challenge is the roster around Davis and LeBron. Markieff Morris and Dwight Howard are free agents; meanwhile, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Rajon Rondo will opt out looking for the bigger payday. Kyle Kuzma is extension eligible.

According to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, the Timberwolves’ brass met with Ball in Southern California on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by team president Gersson Rosas and head coach Ryan Saunders and did not include any basketball activity.

Boasting the first pick in the upcoming draft, the Timberwolves would make some major news if they opted to add Ball to the mix. The 19-year-old guard from Southern California is seen as a legit force on offense. He has range as a shooter and can pass the ball with the best of them.

NBA confirms 2020 draft will be conducted virtually

NBA confirms 2020 draft will be conducted virtually The plan is for NBA commissioner Adam Silver and deputy commissioner Mark Tatum to appear live at ESPN’s studios in Bristol, Conn., where they’ll reveal this year’s draft picks. As usual, Silver will announce the first-round selections, while Tatum will handle the second round.Although there won’t be a traditional “green room” for top prospects, a number of draftees will appear virtually, according to Thursday’s announcementThe NBA also conducted its August draft lottery virtually, while other leagues – including the WNBA and NFL – have completed virtual drafts already this year.

LaMelo Ball ’s next risky move comes with NBA draft confidence. “I think it’s the best route for me, I’m trying to be the No. 1 pick for the 2020 draft .” LaMelo ’s sentiment mirrors that of his father LaVar, who took his son out of high school after his junior year to play professionally with Lithuanian club BC

I don’t know holiday plans LaMelo Ball had. But if he was planning to come back to the states for Christmas, he has a legitimate reason to do so. # lameloball # nba Meet LaVar Ball and the family behind Big Baller Brand | SC Featured - Продолжительность: 7:03 ESPN 10 007 812 просмотров.

However, the Timberwolves also made news early this year by trading for guard D’Angelo Russell. Russell is seen as ball-dominant. The same goes for the younger of the three Ball brothers.

Some might argue that this is the Timberwolves doing their due diligence. The expectation is that they’ll continue to meet with top prospects leading up to the draft. That includes James Wiseman and Anthony Edwards.

However, news of the Timberwolves getting together with Ball fits in tightly with suggestions that he’s favored to go to Minnesota with the first pick. How that dynamic would look with Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns remains to be seen.

As with the Warriors picking No. 2 overall, the Timberwolves are said to be open to trading the first pick. Any news on that front likely wouldn’t come to fruition until draft night on Nov. 18.

Report: Hawks open to including No. 6 pick in trade for Jrue Holiday .
Holiday is widely considered to be one of the best two-way guards in the NBA, so it’s no surprise he is such a hot commodity. His market could be impacted by his contract situation, however. Holiday has a $27 million player option for the 2021-22 season that he is expected to decline, so any team that acquires him would either need to sign him to an extension or risk only having him as a one-year rental.Holiday averaged 19.1 points, 6.7 assists and 1.6 steals per game for the Pelicans last season. He’s so highly regarded as a defender that his peers openly felt he got snubbed in All-Defensive Team voting.
