LeBron James and Anthony Davis won the Lakers one title, and as long as those two are on the roster L.A. is a contender for another. This summer, Davis will opt-out then re-sign, but the challenge is the roster around Davis and LeBron. Markieff Morris and Dwight Howard are free agents; meanwhile, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Rajon Rondo will opt out looking for the bigger payday. Kyle Kuzma is extension eligible.

NBA confirms 2020 draft will be conducted virtually

NBA confirms 2020 draft will be conducted virtually The plan is for NBA commissioner Adam Silver and deputy commissioner Mark Tatum to appear live at ESPN’s studios in Bristol, Conn., where they’ll reveal this year’s draft picks. As usual, Silver will announce the first-round selections, while Tatum will handle the second round.Although there won’t be a traditional “green room” for top prospects, a number of draftees will appear virtually, according to Thursday’s announcementThe NBA also conducted its August draft lottery virtually, while other leagues – including the WNBA and NFL – have completed virtual drafts already this year.

TMZ reports that at least two NBA teams have done away with the term “owner” within the past year, and that other teams have discussed making a similar change. “You shouldn’t say owner,” Warriors forward Draymond Green said last year on HBO’s The Shop, via TMZ. The thinking is that the term

However, the meeting only consisted of an interview, apparently no workout took place. According to Givony, Ball has planned more meetings with the Golden State Warriors, who hold the second pick in the 2020 draft, for the coming week. He is also expected to meet with the Charlotte Hornets (# 3 pick) and the Chicago Bulls (# 4 pick).

The interview with the Timberwolves was apparently the first face-to-face meeting that Ball had in the drafting process. However, he had already had virtual meetings with the Warriors and Knicks, as the younger brother of Pelicans guard Lonzo Ball himself confirmed a few weeks ago.

As Rick Bonnell claims to have found out about the Charlotte Observer , Ball could not convince in these interviews. In a radio interview, the journalist stated: "LaMelo Ball doesn't perform particularly well in job interviews. I learned that from several sources."

Marcus Thomas II of The Athletic reported recently that there are multiple people in the Warriors organization who consider LaMelo Ball to be “super talented.” Thompson believes Golden State’s No. 2 overall pick in the draft will come down to Ball, Anthony Edwards and James Wiseman. Ball has not been able to improve its draft stick in its previous interviews with the teams, said Bonnell. Rather, teams outside of the top 5, who saw no chance to get the ball a few weeks ago, should now increasingly inform themselves about the guard.

Ball played for the Illawarra Hawks in Australia last season and put on an average of 17 points, 7.6 rebounds and 6.8 assists in twelve games with, however, meager throw rates of 37.5 percent from the field and 25 percent from downtown . Along with Anthony Edwards and James Wiseman , he is considered a candidate to be drawn in first place by the Wolves in the 2020 draft.

NBA front offices expect LaMelo Ball to go No. 1 overall? .
The Chicago Bulls, Detroit Pistons and Oklahoma City Thunder have been named by NBA executives as teams that might be willing to trade up to No. 1 to select Ball. For all the chatter about a mediocre pre-draft process, Ball seems entrenched at the top of the draft. This makes it sound like the only question is which team he’ll go to, not which pick. The Timberwolves have made no secret of the fact that they’re open to a trade. For now, though, nothing appears close. © Jayne Kamin-Oncea/Getty Images LaMelo Ball Subscribe to Yardbarker's Morning Bark, the most comprehensive newsletter in sports.
